The Glenayre Montessori Family

Seham Merali


Seham is a mother of three children. Having a love for children and education, she is committed to developing confident, independent, mindful students who have a love for school and learning. Seham has shared the gift of a Montessori education with her children as her eldest two have both completed a full three-year cycle at the School.  Seham has a Bachelor of Arts from Simon Fraser University, a Post Graduate Diploma from University of British Columbia in Internet Security and has completed her Montessori training. Seham has owned the School since 2008. She was also the previous owner Sunny Gate Montessori School in Coquitlam, which she ran for 8 years.

Darcie Esau

Darcie is a very experienced Montessori teacher and our centre Manager. Darcie loves what she does, and has been a teacher at Glenayre Montessori for over 20 years. She is a qualified Montessori teacher and also has her certification as an Early Childhood Educator. Darcie is very artistic and always brings great ideas into the classroom to enhance the children’s learning experience.

 

 

Margaret Nowak

Margaret is a very patient and compassionate teacher. She is a mother of 2 and she very passionate about the Montessori method of teaching. This shows in her day-today interactions with the children. Margaret has over 10 years of experience working in a Montessori classroom. She is a teacher in our “Evergreen Room”. Margaret has both her Early Childhood Educator license as well as her Montessori certification.

 

Jeongmi (Maggie) Cho

Maggie is a mother of two children, and has many years of teaching experience while in Korea. Through her valuable teaching experience, she always tries to encourage and motivate the children to step forward. Maggie is a caring, joyful and responsible teacher. She holds an Early Childhood Educator license, and is a teacher in the “Maple Room”.

In Maggie’s words, “I hope that spending time with children sows small seeds in their hearts that will grow into something big in the future.”

Mi Hyun (Min) Lim

Min is a mother of 2 girls. She is a caring, understanding and patient teacher. The children adore Miss Min. Min has her Montessori training from AMI, and as a result brings a lot of well thought out Montessori teachings to the classroom. Min has been with Glenayre Montessori for over 10 years. She has her AMI Montessori certification along with her Early Childhood Educator certification.

 

 

Cynthia Wang

Cynthia is an energetic, caring and patient teacher who really enjoys being with the children. She finds herself lucky to be the mother of two girls. Cynthia has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Manitoba, and she has completed the Early Childhood Education Assistant program at Vancouver Community College. Cynthia has volunteer experience working with young children at her local Chinese school. She has also helped out with her local Sunday school programs. Miss Cynthia is our assistant teacher who helps out in both classrooms.

I-Tsen (Penny) Harn

Penny is a mother of 3 children, and has completed the Early Childhood Educator program at Vancouver Community College. Penny is a patient, warm and compassionate teacher. She started with us as a substitute teacher back in 2015, and is now a full time member of our team. Penny loves being around children as they bring her a lot of joy and happiness as she fulfills her ECE career.

 

Gigi Marcos

Gigi is a mother of 3 and grandma of 2 children. She holds an Early Childhood Educator License, as well as a Montessori teaching diploma. She has been in the ECE and Montessori field since 2005. Gigi loves to incorporate music and movement during her circle times. She enjoys seeing children grow and learn through the Montessori Method.

Jaewon Jung

Jaewon is a mother of three children. She studied Christian Education in university and earned a Master’s degree in Social Work. She also holds an Early Childhood Educator license. With many years of experience leading children’s ministries at church, Jaewon has developed strong skills in building meaningful relationships with children. She strives to be a caring and encouraging teacher who nurtures children with love and warmth.
